Have the alignment and profiles referenced separately from a file Merged

There are issues with having an alignment and profile attached to a specific file.

In one instance, we lost a point control in our model that was referencing a profile in the alignment file and it was only noticed through QC. This will create dangerous issues if we cannot rely on references being tied to specific files that do not always hold.

(for personal reference, AutoCAD has this ability and there is zero issues with labeling)

Hi, thanks for your comment. I’m curious about your suggestion of storing the profile in a separate file. How would that help in the case where you lost a point control? I’m not sure I understand how that would make a difference. Could you please explain your reasoning? Thanks.
