We have a standard naming convention that uses sequence numbers which are in the middle of the filenames. This has been our standard for over twenty years. Additionally, we require each sheet to be in a separate file for multiple flexibility and access.
Now that we can create multiple sheets in a single command, we cannot create sheet names that match this long-standing convention.
our current work-around is to manually create the sheets and then, after creating the Named Boundaries, creating the drawing models one by one and selecting the previously create sheet files to have the drawing models created in and then referenced into the sheet models in those files.
If there was some method of defining a placeholder of the sequence numbers in the seed names, this would address our needs. Any tool that generates a sequence number always at the end of a name seed would benefit from such a capability.
For example, our highway plan sheets for a project AW123 would be named pHD-P###_AW123.dgn where ### is a three-digit placeholder for a sequence number from 001 to 999.
A pair of variables could be created - one to define the placeholder character and one to define the starting sequence number.
