Currently, Reports produced with Item Type data do not respect Fences or clipped length. Could Bentley develop a way to get these reports to work with fences?

We need a way of reporting quantities for 'dumb' lines with only Item Types attached. The workflow cannot be to featurize every element and use Quantities by Named Boundaries. Also, breaking an element (to get them to work with these reports) is not a great workflow. While somewhat seldom, it is not uncommon for pay split areas to change over the life of a project, plus broken lines are messier and more time consuming to edit.

Quantities by Named Boundaries is not a super viable method. It requires adding a Feature Definition and a profile to each element. Setting a constant profile of 0 feels bad, and setting the profile of all elements that we need quantities for to be equal to the active surface feel like a lot of processing power. Adding a Feature Definition post-facto also changes the symbology of the element.
