Product/Version: LBS v24.0.2.19 under OBD v24.0.2.15
Area: Steel Design / Fatigue Check / Stiffeners
Current Behavior:
In LBS, the fatigue check for stiffeners does not provide the user with an appropriate option to account for bolted stiffener details. The customer needs to model locations where TDOT uses bolted-down stiffener plates and apply the fatigue category appropriate to that connection detail.
Requested Enhancement:
Provide functionality in LBS to allow users to select the applicable fatigue category for stiffeners, including bolted stiffeners, rather than limiting fatigue-category selection to CF-related details.
This requirement is consistent with the internal case note stating that AASHTO Table 6.6.1.2.3-1 also addresses bolted stiffeners, and therefore the fatigue-category selection needs to account for stiffeners as well as CF. [[CS0538383...stead of B]
Expected Behavior:
When defining or designing a stiffener in LBS, the user should be able to specify the connection/detail type, including a bolted stiffener, so that the corresponding AASHTO fatigue category is applied to the fatigue check.
User/Business Need:
This enhancement would allow users following agency-specific detailing practices, such as TDOT bolted stiffener plates, to represent the actual connection condition and perform the fatigue check using the appropriate AASHTO fatigue category.
