In previous products, the user was able to drawing a pattern lines by inputting stations and offset lengths (for an individual station or for the entire alignment length). The new process of creating pattern lines with Civil AccuDraw is a massive headache and time waste compared to previous products. Pattern lines are useful with creating ROW Lines (mentioned in the comment below) and geolocating a user in plan view along an alignment, creating superelevation labels, etc. While Civil AccuDraw will get you to the end result, it takes MUCH longer especially if you have a larger project. If the project is more than a bridge replacement, you can count of creating pattern lines for hours. This should be an easy tool to add, and I cannot understand why it was never considered in this software.

The tool he's referring to is the "DRAW PATTERN LINES" toolbox. It was used in the process of creating X-Sections. But can be used for other applications. I used it on every project I've worked on laying out Right of Way especially with many jogs. Very easy to type in a station - set the offset and then click "Draw Patter Line". It would draw a line at that station perpendicular to the alignment. Very quick and efficient compared to the station - offset tool within ORD. If more users knew about this tool there would be hundreds of votes to have this tool added.
I believe he means the "Draw Slope Direction Pattern" tool which was widely used with InRoads. Sadly, it seems many of the great tools that InRoads offered which really separated it from the competition have been left out of ORD. "Draw Slope Direction Pattern" is definitely missed by many.
Could you clarify? What tasks are you trying to solve? Why, in your opinion, is a "Pattern Line" the best solution?
